I want the library to be recognized as a community and business partner, and I want to be a visible connection to the library for anyone who wants to work with or be re-connected to the library either for personal or professional reasons.

(I do also have a very real professional purpose for staying connected to the business community, since I am the business librarian.)

I am a FJI Ambassador because I want to bring community knowledge, awareness, and company/organization interest to our youth and our educators. I want to be known as a youth and community advocate who brings the needs of the community into the academia world. I want our students to graduate knowing which companies are in their backyard and realize that they can live a vibrant life in Janesville.

My favorite thing about being an ambassador is making connections and learning about all of the businesses in Janesville.  I had no idea there were so many great things happening in Janesville before I became an ambassador.

My why is: It really takes a village of people to strengthen and grow a community to meet the needs of all its residents. Forward Janesville brings together people who are passionate about just that…growing and strengthening a community and I want to be part of that village!

Being a Forward Janesville ambassador provides me the opportunity to highlight, share, and champion my hometown of Janesville, Wisconsin – whether those opportunities are centric to economic development, the education sector, the arts and culture infusion, or the downtown revitalization – and promote and encourage member businesses to see these opportunities as ones to get involved with to truly experience the power of community.

Loving Life Creatively

My original reason, way back when, was to cultivate new professional relationships in the hopes to recruit new business back to the bank I was working for at the time. I soon realized my reasons grew from a single goal to an excitement for the opportunity of building many long-lasting friendships, learning more about the businesses and happenings in our community, learning from mentors and leaders, the importance of banding together for the greater good AND scored some awesome careers along the way. I’ve continued my commitment over the years understanding the importance of Forward Janesville in our community. I am very grateful and proud to represent our community as an Ambassador.
