Rotary Botanical Gardens’ Cottage Garden Gift Shop is excited to announce that their gift shop will soon undergo a complete transformation. When the transformation is complete, the new Cottage Garden Gallery will be another exciting reason to visit Rotary Botanical Gardens. Unlike the old gift shop, the new gallery will feature only unique, one of a kind items made by local artisans from Janesville, Rock County and throughout Wisconsin.
“At the Gardens we are making this change as a conscious effort to do our part to help support the local arts,” said Kelli Cameron, RBG Executive Director. “We are offering the opportunity for the community and tourists to make purchases of quality, locally made items, sold at affordable prices.”
Currently the gift shop is liquidating most of its remaining inventory. On June 20, 2011 it will close for renovation, reopening July 1 as the new Cottage Garden Gallery. “We have been planning for this change for a few months now,” said Cameron. “It’s very exciting to finally share the news!” Artists for the opening of the Gallery are arranged, however some will rotate and additional space may be available. The Gardens is asking interested local artists to email Lori Ebneter, Volunteer Coordinator & Facility Associate, at lori.ebneter@rotarygardens.org, with your name, contact information and a brief description of your art. Maureen Birchfield of Bede Reflexology has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Reflexology Association of America (RAA). She will be serving as the recording secretary. RAA was founded in 1995 to help professional reflexologist work together to develop the field of reflexology, which is as old as civilization, but an emerging complimentary health modality in the United States.
