Committees & Councils
Education Council:
Forward Janesville's Education Council is dedicated to building bridges between Janesville’s business and education communities. The Council’s mission is to promote collaborative partnerships between the business community and all Rock County educational institutions. Goodwill Ambassadors:
Each Forward Janesville Goodwill Ambassador has several responsibilities, including: promoting the organization; participating in a monthly Ambassador meeting; taking the lead in retaining 5-10 Forward Janesville members; attending ribbon cuttings and Forward Janesville events; serving as a mentor to new members, and introducing these members to others. Government Relations Council:
Forward Janesville is dedicated to the advancement of a pro-growth agenda in Rock County, the state of Wisconsin and Washington, DC. This involves lobbying at every level of government—from municipal to federal—on behalf of the business community. The Government Relations Council identifies, researches, and monitors legislative issues of interest to the Rock County area business community, and helps to determine Forward Janesville’s position on these issues. Small Business Council:
The Small Business Council of Forward Janesville helps provide small businesses with the tools for growth and success. The Small Business Council is seeking new members, and welcomes input on how the group can best serve the needs of Forward Janesville’s small business members. Professional Development:
Dale Carnegie Training: The Dale Carnegie Course helps people deliver the breakthrough performances that drive success in today’s ever-more competitive and demanding world, and equips people to improve results in their personal and professional lives. Forward Janesville is a sponsor of the Dale Carnegie Course, which is scheduled at different times throughout the year. Lorman Education Services: Forward Janesville offers its members a universe of continuing education opportunities through Lorman Education Services, which offers a wide array of continuing education services online. Forward Janesville members receive a significant discount on Lorman seminars. Please contact us to learn more.
Publications:
Forward Janesville offers numerous publications for purchase to members and the public, though members get substantial discounts. Some of the materials we offer include: maps of Janesville and the Rock County area; a directory of area manufacturers; a list of area clubs & organizations; the annual Forward Janesville Business Guide, which lists all members alphabetically and by category; relocation packets; pre-printed lists and labels of all Forward Janesville members; and area phone books.
Business Counseling:
Need assistance in starting or growing your business, marketing your products or writing a business plan? Forward Janesville’s Experienced Business Advisors (EBA) are here to help! The EBA Group is an association of volunteers who can provide professional guidance and helpful information for your Forward Janesville member business. These experienced counselors have distinguished backgrounds in their respective fields, including marketing, accounting and retail, skilled trades, insurance, engineering and more.
