Entrepreneurship
Week USA Plans Underway
National
Website Welcomes Listings from Wisconsin
MADISON – Schools, businesses,
communities, organizations and individuals are invited to enter their
Entrepreneurship Week USA (E-ship Week USA) activities on a national website www.entrepreneurshipweekusa.com.
The first-ever coordinated national effort to promote the importance of
entrepreneurism will be held February 24-March 3, 2007, and the website will act
as a clearinghouse for all activities throughout the United States.
“I encourage everyone interested in
teaching or learning more about the role entrepreneurs will play in the future
economy of Wisconsin – and the world – to participate in Entrepreneurship
Week USA,” says Department of Commerce Secretary Mary P. Burke. “The purpose
of the week is to educate the public and promote the entrepreneurial spirit
across our country.”
Appleton’s Venture Center and the
Cooperative Educational Service Agency #6 (CESA) were the first Wisconsin groups
to enter their E-ship Week USA activity on the nationwide web site. On Monday,
February 26, 2007 students and teachers at 10 CESA #6 area high schools will
kick off E-ship Week USA at the Liberty Hall and Conference Center in Kimberly
with a breakfast, guest speakers and panel discussions, followed by an E-ship
Week USA contest where teams of students will compete for cash scholarships by
“solving” eight real-life business challenges.
