JOIN Janesville Young Professionals are excited to announce our guest speakers will be Dr. Tracy Pierner, President of Blackhawk Technical College, and Lisa Hurda, Foundation Director of Blackhawk Technical College for an overview of the College's Public Safety and Transportation Center project as well as a brief overview of the College and what it means for Janesville and Rock County. Lisa will also share her personal journal with leadership development and background of championing and engaging with our Janesville community in both her personal and professional endeavors. Dr. Tracy Pierner has served as the President of Blackhawk Technical College (BTC) for fours year. In 1999, Dr. Pierner entered higher education as an instructor in Engineering Technology at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in Green Bay, Wisconsin before taking on his roles such as Dean of Technical Education for Aiken Technical College in Aiken, South Carolina and Vice President of Academic Affairs at Henry Ford College, Dearborn, Michigan. Before entering higher education, Dr. Pierner was an engineer at Rockwell Automation and Kimberly-Clark Corp. and served in the Army Reserves. He holds a Ph.D. in Technology Management - Manufacturing Systems from Indiana State University, a Master's degree in Engineering from Case Western Reserve University, and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin.

Lisa Hurda, Foundation Director 

Lisa is Blackhawk Technical College's Foundation Director. She started in this position with the Foundation in January 2020. In this role, she is responsible for providing leadership and administrative oversight for the Foundation's scholarships and grants, community relations, alumni association, and ensuring positive internal and external relationships are created and maintained. She has spent the last 15 years in the non-profit arena providing overall leadership, strategic planning, financial management, fund development, marketing, community relations and communication, contract management as well as being a "connector" of people in her community
