Wisconsin's Partisan Primary Election is on Tuesday, August 9, 2016.
There are several important national and local races on the ballot on August 9.
Here are some special instructions for this vote:
- Vote for one political party ONLY: Democrat or Republican. If you vote for both parties, your ballot will be rejected. For example, if you vote in the First Congressional District Republican Primary (Paul Ryan vs. Paul Nehlen), you MAY NOT then cross party lines and cast a vote in the Rock County Clerk Democratic Primary. Rule of thumb: pick a party and stick with it!
- You can vote for whichever party you choose on August 9. Wisconsin holds open primary elections, meaning that registered voters do not have to be members of a party to vote in that party's primary.
