Champions Club Ribbon Cutting: Nelson's HomeTowne Recreation Celebrates New Location

Depending on your age and how long you've been in Janesville, you might know 2809 N. Pontiac Drive as the old Skatin' Place roller skating rink.

Or you might remember it as the Pontiac Convention Center.

But now is the new home of Nelson's HomeTowne Recreation.

We were thrilled to recently celebrate the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting of Nelson's, a Forward Janesville member business at the Champions Club level.

A family-owned business with a passion for outdoor fun, Nelson’s Hometowne Recreation has been helping Wisconsin families create backyard memories for over 30 years, including having a retail store here in Janesville since 2003.

From swimming pools and hot tubs to patio furniture, grills, saunas, and billiards, the Nelson’s team is dedicated to helping customers make the most of their leisure time—indoors and out.

The move into their new, larger location marks an exciting next chapter for the business, which has built a reputation for expert service, quality products, and genuine hometown hospitality.

"Our words have been for years, 'Bringing family fun home,'" owner Nancy Nelson said. "We're so excited to have a new beginning."

The new space offers expanded product displays, additional room for service and repairs, and a welcoming environment where customers can explore everything from luxury spas to game room essentials.

Stop out and see all that they have to offer. ... And as a throwback, you'll even get a glimpse of that old roller skating rink floor!
