JANESVILLE, Wis. (April 27, 2026) – Forward Janesville is proud to announce that JOIN Janesville Young Professionals has officially become its designated young professionals affiliate, strengthening a long-standing relationship and expanding access to professional development and networking opportunities across the community. 

Originally launched in partnership with Forward Janesville nearly a decade ago, JOIN Janesville has served as a hub for young professionals seeking to connect, grow and engage in the community. While the organization has operated independently in recent years, it has remained closely aligned with Forward Janesville and its mission. 

This new formal affiliation marks a renewed commitment to supporting the region’s emerging workforce. And comes with an important new benefit. 

Effective immediately, all employees of Forward Janesville member businesses are eligible for JOIN Janesville membership at no additional cost. Previously, JOIN membership required a separate fee. 

“This is about lowering barriers and creating more opportunities for people to get involved early in their careers,” said Shar Hermanson, President and CEO of Forward Janesville. “Our members consistently tell us that talent attraction and retention is a top priority. Providing access to JOIN Janesville as part of membership is a meaningful way to invest in the next generation of leaders in our community.” 

JOIN Janesville leaders see the move as a natural next step in the organization’s evolution.

Area young professionals are encouraged to attend an upcoming JOIN event, including their monthly Coffee Connection at 8 a.m. on May 1 at Bodacious Brew in downtown Janesville, and their “Hike and Network” event at 3:30 p.m. on May 14 at Riverside Park – an event that will lead into Forward Janesville’s monthly Business After Five event at nearby Elks Lodge #254.
