In August, Forward Janesville was proud to celebrate the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting for Santa Maria Supermarket, located at 1820 Center Avenue on Janesville’s southside.

The 12,000-square-foot, family-run supermarket brings fresh produce, authentic Latino flavors, and a vibrant community feel. In addition to grocery staples, Santa Maria offers a taqueria, bakery, ice cream shop, butcher, and liquor store, making it a one-stop destination for food and family needs.

The Janesville location marks Santa Maria’s second full supermarket, complementing its original Madison store. Store manager Roberto Nevarez, who recently relocated to Janesville, runs the business alongside his niece, Madelyn Perez.

The Ribbon Cutting, and the Grand Opening the following weekend, welcomed community leaders, local business owners and members of the community excited to see a new grocery option on the southside.
